For a brief moment, the lights in the arena go dim. As a rhythm starts to build up, strobing white lights match its intensity. The Titantron of pure white depicts a crimson red dragon arching around in an attempt to consume its own tail before the throat-burning vocals change the atmosphere to violent flickers of red and white strobes.
GET ON YOUR KNEES AND BOW! DOOOOOOOOWWN!!!!
"Bow Down" by I Privail comes into full heavy metal stride as Finnegan Wakefield emerges onto the stage. He looks over the crowd, a half-hearted smirk on the side of his lip in their ovation before he raises a hand into the air, as if collecting the atmosphere in the palm of his hand before slowly lowering his arm parallel to his face. He swiftly pulls it back to draw a thumb over his throat before punching the air in front of him, momentum turning his back to the crowd where his arms shoot out at his side.
Yeeeeeeeah!!! You will never know, it's the price I pay! Look into my eyes, we are not the same! Yeah, this is where you fall apart! Yeah, this is where you break! 'Cause I'm in control and you'll know my name! 'Cause I gave my life, gave it everything! Yeah, this is where you fall apart! Yeah, this is where you break! To everybody who doubted! Get on your knees and bow down!!! Get on your knees and bow down!!!
Finnegan saunters his way down the ramp as the song goes through its chorus, marching unchanged in his focus towards the ring. He stops at the end of the aisle, looking up to the sky and taking a deep breath, limbering up his neck and shoulders before heading over towards the steel steps.
“RING ANNOUNCER: Introducing [first/his opponent]! From Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England, weighing in tonight at 203 pounds! HE IS THE TECHNICAL ASSASSIN! FIIINNEEEGAAAN!!! WAAAKEEEFIIIEEELD!!!”
I come alive, I'll survive, take on anything! So paint a target on my back let 'em come for me! I don't fall, don't quit, don't ever sleep! 'Cause, I'm on another level that you'll never reach! If you seek forgiveness!!!!! You'll get nothing!!!! You'll get nothing from me!!!
Finnegan stands on the apron, arms outstretched as he faces the fans like a gladiator in front of the blood-thirsty spectators. He then climbs up the turnbuckle, right foot on the middle rope, left on the top as he removes his jacket and drops it aside, dismounting into the ring. He would climb the second turnbuckle on the juxtaposed side, once again engaging the crowd seeking violence before he drops down. He crouches in a corner, limbering up with wrist exercises as "Bow Down" fades out.

» Gimmick:
Wakefield is the undying heart of professional wrestling that has learned to adapt and survive the cut-throat world of the sport. While he doesn't present a flashy gimmick to the world, he presents a sense of honor that wrestling has slowly lost touch with over the years. With the vast majority of wrestling around him sacrificing their pride to be a character, something flashy, or otherwise fake as a professional wrestler -- Finnegan Wakefield prides himself on being what is real. Authentic to the person that he is; a constant evolution of a man who has sacrificed his blood, sweat, and tears every step of the way to becoming the best. He has grown from a young lion, timid and socially awkward to the culture shock that came from leaving the at-the-time unnoteworthy United Kingdom wrestling scene, to someone who has cut their teeth against some of the worlds best after migrating over to the United States.
He is touted as a genius mind, an incredibly sound technical wrestler, and one of the most resilient competitors in the sport. His work ethic is second to none, rivaling longer-tenured veterans of the sport, a very calm and focused approach to his matches, and is a capable young master of the catch wrestling style. His drive, convictions, and discipline keep his ego in shackles and his morals in check as he looks to leave a legacy on the sport he dedicates his life to.
The Death of an Artist. Wakefield had purposedly strayed from the World Championship path during seasons 2 and 3 following his departure in season 1 as penance for vacating the World Championship in the process. While doing so, he became the focus of a lot of critique from his peers that deemed him a has-been, a star that had faded, and irrelevant in the current form of the OWA. While he had seemingly carried himself greatly through most matches during the 3rd season, he had lost a number of important matches he had made personal. It was only after his elimination in the 2021 Clash of the Titans match, despite having iron manned the over 2-hour match with a 40-Man field, did the losses start eating him alive. He could no longer justify the efforts of being an honorable man in a sport where people showed him none, his former virtues having let him down one time too many. Having snapped and found his killer instinct at Final Destination 3, Wakefield became an enigma for a short while, vague about his allegiances and aspirations, until he revealed his intentions at Game Over 2021. He was neither the Wrestling Artist of old, nor the Prodigal Son that returned. He was back in full force, making himself and the OWA what he wanted it to be, regardless of who likes it or not.
» Motivation:
Finnegan Wakefield has since a very young age been determined to make something of his life, and professional wrestling became that platform for him. While his dream to become one of the best professional wrestlers in the world is a simple and commonly shared dream in the landscape, Wakefield has time and time again showcased his determination and drive to make it his reality. A simple dream doesn't necessarily mean an easy one. He grew wise to the cut-throat nature of the sport rather quickly after and has adopted an "adapt and survive" mantra. While he doesn't set out to be a rule-breaker or someone who takes shortcuts, he has shown unrivaled conviction to make his name synonymous with the sport.
After returning to OWA after a lengthy hiatus, Wakefield was seen as the prodigal son; he who left his figurative home to find himself and returned to the people he considers family a more focused man. His goals the same, but had left loose ends to tie back up. He still has unfinished bad blood with Keelan Callihan, the stigma of how he had forfeited the OWA World Championship, as well as other lesser obstacles that stand in his way of the completion he seeks as a wrestler and as a man. He started from the bottom when he returned, and in season 3 he has made great strides climbing back up the ranks. Getting back to the top of the OWA isn't a matter of 'if he will', but rather 'when he will' to which only one question resides if he does; will he be able to keep it this time around?
It has become seemingly impossible to survive while wearing silk gloves. Since his return, Finnegan Wakefield has found his brand of professional wrestling had become taboo and overshadowed by the absurdities and deathmatch mentality that has become the new norm. Despite numerous attempts at personal redemption following his departure from the company in 2019, he has struggled to get back to his former ace status. While thriving in competitive matches, ones with personal stakes have been his downfall numerous times, ultimately starting him back at square one. Following his elimination from the 2021 Clash of the Titans, a match that was the ultimate vessel to redeem himself in his own eyes, he had been eating himself alive. Prompted by on-again-off-again bitter rival Keelan Callihan, Wakefield with nothing to lose except it all agreed to a Career versus Career match, stepping out of his traditional elements for an I Quit Deathmatch. He was tested on the stage he had failed at last year, in a match type he was deemed too without a killer instinct to survive. Through sheer grit, he survived. Something over the course of the match awoke in Finn, newfound aggression, tenacity to bear his pain to new extremes to win. He had found his true killer instinct and has seemingly embraced it, knowing everything else hadn't worked to get him back towards the World Championships, this might be the final piece to the puzzle. One much larger than he anticipated. While it seemed he could be bought by the likes of The Black List to pursue his completion through the Triple Crown, hunting the demons of his past took top priority after he turned on Nate Cage, proving he hadn't forgotten or forgave his past transgressions, and used The Black List as a vessel to achieve that poetic justice.
» Wrestling Style:
Journalistically described as a technical wrestling mastermind, Finnegan's wrestling style is predominant in combining takedowns, counters, applications, and transitions to make for beautiful submission sequences. He isn't the kind of wrestler to be accused of slowing down a match by taking the critically despised rest hold, as he gives his submission holds layer momentum in giving them little intricacies like extra pressure on individual segments of a limb and an emphasis on arches and sporadic cranks, an art in which most don't pay attention to. His style often draws comparisons to various martial art disciplines than they do towards pro-wrestling, however, his style has been accepted by audiences to separate him from the run-of-the-mill catch wrestler. In recent, he has leaned into more of the aggressive nature of technical wrestling. More single-limb manipulations, uncomfortable hyper-extensions, if he can find a creative way to inflict pain on an opponent, he will do it.
He is heavily strategic, almost treating every match like a game of chess, planning out scenarios, and encounters many moves ahead to help his offensive and defensive match mindset.
With his legs being his longest limbs, Wakefield has implemented a heavy kicked base striking offense, as well as a psychological advantage of keeping his opponents at a distance. With a kickboxing background, his striking game is not one to be taken lightly as he doesn't tend to pull strikes. He is more than capable of forcing an opponent to tap out or leave him knocked out. His mental capacity to lure opponents into a vulnerable situation is one of his deadliest assets, forcing them to keep a distance or lure them into a strike or submission hold, knowing how to push your buttons to throw a strike at him in anger, more often than not sloppier than intended, only to spring his trap. He is calm under pressure, has the knowledge to slip out of a large variety of wrestling holds.
Over the course of his career, his tolerance for pain had become extremely heightened. Having competed in deathmatches that tested his physical limitations through chair shots to the head, strangled to unconsciousness, electrocuted, even stabbed with the blade of a knife to the abdomen, only to persevere and, more often than not, prevail. He is by no means immune to pain, but there seems to be no tell-tale limit to his resolve.

ALYSSA GRACE Fiancé Finn is someone that puts very little before his own goals and ambition. Having felt the knife of betrayal many times in his back over the course of his career, some on the stage but many off, he had built walls to keep people at a distance so he could not be vulnerable. This doesn't seem to be the case for Alyssa, who quickly became the most important person in his life, though through means that neither can recall how it even started.
Despite their mutual admiration, they trust the other enough to handle their own affairs in the sport and tend to not intervene unless it is completely necessary to do so. Not one of those wrestling couples that are always at the others side, showing public affection and being gushy.
