Whether or not his opponents see him as more Bond or Blofeld, however, is a matter of opinion. As it is, the pomp and circumstance that comes with such a demeanor is really just a means to an end as the chairman of the newly founded APEX looks to obtain as much as he can of the one thing in the world that he loves most: Gold. Lots of it. Not just Championships but heirlooms, jewelry, artifacts from an age gone... you name it. If it’s within his reach then he’ll make it known that he wants it. That's why they call him 'The Man With the Midas Touch', after all. With his in-ring career having seemingly come to a quick and sudden end he instead is hoping to guide the current stars and mold ones of his own to obtain even more success through osmosis.
He prides himself on his smooth talking and in-ring IQ, as well as his overall intelligence, and considers himself to be one of the greatest masterminds in all of professional wrestling. He’s loyal to those he allows into his inner circle and being someone who an affection for gold, he understands that bringing prestige to the championships of APEX is important above all else.
RINGSIDE INFORMATION Theme Music: ‘Take Out the Gunman’ by Chevelle
Entrance: (The lights around the arena slowly begin to dim. The iconic opening guitar riff of ‘Take Out the Gunman’ suddenly strikes the P.A. System and a golden spotlight shines down on the man standing in the center of the stage: Matt Miles, his back turned, head twisted as he stares over his shoulder and the name “MATT MILES” fades onto the titantron in a glistening gold. A pair of black and gold tights with matching knee pads and boots make up his ring gear. The song comes to a slow and he confidently walks down to the ring, the reaction from the crowd like white noise as his stare is laser focused on the ring at the bottom of the ramp.)
Ring Announcer: From Oakland, California… weighing in at two hundred and twenty-seven pounds… he is The Man with the Midas Touch… MMMMAATTTTTTT MMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIILLLLEEESSSS!!!
(Miles makes his way up the steel steps and into the ring, scanning the arena for the first time with a small smirk rising out of the side of his mouth. He brings his arms up and clenches his fists either side of his face. He drops to a knee and pops his arms out, extending them and opening his palms, then slides over and back into his corner, leaning against the turnbuckles as he awaits the bell.)
CHARACTER MOTIVATIONS Motivation for competing: Don't expect to see him compete any time soon. His thirst for gold is unquenchable, going beyond but not excluding winning championships. Tendency to Cheat: Less regularly than he used to. Typically in retaliation or if the opponent warrants it.
